Joesph Duffy made a stunning return to MMA action last night with a fantastic victory over Damien Lapilus at The Helix in Dublin.
The Meenbanad native hasn’t fought in a professional MMA fight for over three years, but he looked like he’d never been away from the Octagon last night, as he delivered an assured and highly impressive performance.
Duffy had huge support at the Dublin venue last night, with a large contingent of supporters travelling from Donegal to cheer on the popular fighter.
Duffy showed his brief foray into professional boxing has helped his striking game in the cage, he delivered a succession of solid strikes to the head of Lapilus in the opening two rounds.
In truth Duffy controlled the fight throughout, and in the last round Duffy locked his arm under the Frenchman’s chin and Lapilus was then forced to tap out from the choke.
Duffy received widespread coverage ahead of his comeback to the cage for notably being the last opponent to defeat current UFC stars Norman Parke and Conor McGregor.
If Duffy continues to perform like he did last night it won’t be long until he’s firmly back on the UFC’S radar.
