In the last cup competition of the summer last Saturday, with the battle for places in the golfer of the year matchplay still up for grabs, the McElhinney cup brought out the competitive side in a number of contestants.
The honours on the days were taken by Patsy Gallagher who returned an impressive 43 pts, a couple ahead of second placed Noel Kernan, who is still getting used to his reduced ‘slimmer’ handicap.
Well done to both, and good luck to all qualifiers in the matchplay.
Members have a break from competitive action this weekend, with Patricia Fahy’s lady Captain’s day providing the action the following week on Saturday the 23rd.
The club wish Patricia the best of luck on her big day, and also to club President of neighbouring Portsalon, Kathleen McCormick on her big day this Saturday 16th.
