HUNDREDS of mourners have paid tributes today to Brendan Ryan, the Donegal boxing legend, dad and husband who passed away earlier his week.
St Eunan’s in Raphoe was packed to capacity as people came from near and far to pay their respects.
It was a fitting tribute to a man who gave back so much to his community.
“He was the life and soul of Danny Ryan Boxfit at Mountain Top,” said Maria Ryan afterwards.
“He would have been honoured today with the crowds that were there.”
Many of the hundreds who went to the wake or today’s funeral were White Collar boxers, charity fighters who had been under Brendan’s stewardship over recent years.
The crowds were a testament to all of Brendan’s charity work over many many years.
