A goal for Dungloe in the first minute put our boys under pressure from the start followed by Adrian Sweeney scoring a long range free.
Mark Sparky Friel got Gaeil Fhánada’s first point of the game in 2nd minute. Seami ‘Nanny’ Friel was unlucky hitting the crossbar followed by fine points from Ryan McGonigle and Jimmy Coyle. Johnny ‘Nanny’ Friel scored Fanad’s only goal of the game from a great pass from his wee brother Seami. Seami scored another point from a long range free, levelling the game on 20th minute. Fergal ‘Sharkey’ Friel was harshly shown the first black card 25 minutes into the game. Three more black cards were given in the second half, Dungloe’s Shaun Sharkey and Adrian Hanlon and Fanad’s Oisin Shiels. After both sides kicking few wides Seami & Mark ‘Nanny’ and Seimi ‘Coshia’ Friel scored fine points but Dungloe kept ahead to narrowly win the game.

Race registration – At Pairc Ui Shiadhail Gaa Grounds Portsalon, Fanad.
Route information:
The race begins at a pillar near the main road exit to Páirc Ui Shiadhail. The runners turn left at the exit and proceed in the direction of Portsalon Cross Roads. At the crossroads the route turns up what is known locally as ‘Carr’s Brae’ and continues on that road. The route takes a right turn into Corry at Andrew Gibbons house and continues through the town land of Corry downhill through the ‘back burn’. At the junction below Sweeney’s the runners take a right turn in the direction of Portsalon along the Corry Bog road, straight through the crossroads, turning right into the GAA grounds. The 5k finish line is located directly outside the clubhouse gates. For anyone interested in running the route the kilometre, start and finish marks are discreetly marked on the road in green paint.
U6/ U8 /U10 training this Friday August 1st in Portsalon at 6pm.
Thanks to the Downings club who hosted our U8s on Wednesday evening the 16th of July, a lovely evening for football and a few very good games were enjoyed by all who attended. All the games were played with great skill levels and as usual in Downings, very sporting manner and very well refereed by the young refs. We had 21 boys and girls over at the blitz, thanks to the coaches, Lisa, Oisin, Mark, and Martin. Thanks to the Downings tea ladies for the lovely refreshments afterwards.

Ticket orders for Donegal match
Fiona (0851555645) is now taking orders from members for tickets for the All Ireland Quarter final on August 9th. As this will be a double header, members will have first preference on club tickets. There will be a change to distribution of tickets this time. Tickets will be distributed by committee members on Thursday August 7th from the clubhouse in Portsalon. It was decided at our club meeting that this will be the only time and place that tickets may be collected. Tickets which are not collected that night will be returned. Tickets will not be available for collection in Shiels Shop or at Fiona’s house. Get your orders in asap
