Donegal’s Karl Griffin has impressed on his debut run at the World Junior T&F Championships in Oregan.
Griffin, who runs with UCD, reached the semi-finals of the 800 metres with an almost perfect race.
The ever-improving athlete, who has a 1:47 personal best, ran well tactically to finish second in his 800m heat in 1:50.69 last night.
The run clinched him an automatic spot in the semi-finals, which take place in the early hours (00:25) of tomorrow morning.
