Four Masters GAA announce fund raising drive
Four Masters GAA Club in Donegal Town have launched their annual draw with six major prizes to win, the main prize being the two All Ireland Football Final tickets together with E250 cash.
The draw is aimed at raising badly needed funds for the training pitch which has been up and running over the past few years.
Eamonn Gorrell, Chairman of the Club, commented, “ticket’s are being distributed currently and will be on sale from members. This fundraiser is to raise monies to help service loans for our new training pitch. The pitch was developed to accommodate the growing numbers of players that we cater for. This pitch compliments our main pitch and the all-weather and has been a fantastic addition. Many evenings all three pitches are getting fully used and it highlights the popularity of our Gaelic Games. At present there are 300 underage players in the Club and of course our senior teams, male and female. We strive to meet the needs of our players and coaches and to look to the future for the further development of the facilities. At present though the financial priority must be to pay off the outstanding loans we have as a result of the development of the training pitch. To this end we have launched our 2014 Training Pitch Development Draw, with six amazing prizes up for grabs”.
Pauric Harvey, Coaching officer at Four Masters, added, “we are presently in very exciting times for football in the county, with our Minors and Seniors, Champions of Ulster. Over the past 12 months within the Club we have implemented new structures and initiatives to develop underage players. Although we are only at the beginning of the process we are seeing huge numbers of children very eager to learn the skills of Gaelic games and with the facilities in place we are able to accommodate them. We are a community focused club and as such our aim is to continue to meet the needs of our local community and in turn we depend on the local community to support the continued development of the club. Our priority, as a club, is to support the development of young people in order that they reach their full potential. All our coaches are therefore trained to a specific standard, working to nurture young people and support them to progress through the various levels. It’s fantastic to see the county doing so well and it is vital that we support the local clubs to ensure this continues into the future”.
