LADIES FOOTBALL
Well Done to the Senior Ladies who had a hard fought win over Convoy B on Sunday. Missing some key young players the Malin outfit was still strong, with the ladies dominating the majority of the first half. The win however wasn’t easily achieved and the ladies used what they learned against Red Hugh’s in previous weeks to their advantage. As highlighted on Facebook on Sunday the ‘take your points and the goals will come’ adage was the opposite for the ladies in this game. Goals came from Captain Grainne Byrne, Emer Lafferty, Frances Mc Donald and making her way from her usual backline position and putting her best (left) foot forward was U8 Girls Manager Angela O Donnell. Angela also placed the ladies only point on the board from a free. Granted these scores could have not happened without the support of half forwards Amy Mc Clean, Maria Mc Laughlin F and Michelle Doherty. It was young player Chelsea Stevens that set up many attack on the Convoy side however with a bit more experience and the ability to her time will lead to her name surely on the Malin score sheet in future games. Standing tall in the Malin Goal was Marion Collins not being one not to feel the pressure, Marion had a overall impressive game. However, it was the Great Wall of Marion O Donnell, Jennifer Mc Laughlin and Maureen Collins that ensured that these attacks where broke down, that was the end of that. It wasn’t a easy task but the back line was tough, with the speed of Nataile O Meara, Linda Mc Colgan and Catherine Smyth ensured that when that ball got going, it away like a flash of lighting up the field. With the experience of Grainne Byrne and Emer Lafferty in the middle, Malin had it in the bag and out the gate. The Ladies know that the league hasn’t been won yet and the Championship is just around the corner. With 4 out of 5 wins the team will be focusing on their training and building on their strengths. Final Score: Malin Ladies 4:01 Convoy B 2:05. Well Done once again to the Senior Ladies & Management on their win.
UNDER 18 BOYS
Well Done to the Minor Team who had a 4-04 to 0-12 victory over St. Eunan’s B in the Northern Board Division 2 Championship Monday evening. The four goals gained by the Malin side proved to be critical in the final outcome of the game. With strong performances from Aiden Bambrick, Conor Mc Colgan, & Joe Doherty ensured a Malin win on one of their first Championship games on their home ground this season. Goals came from Jonathan Mc Laughlin , Jordan Mc Laughlin, Joe Doherty & Peter Doherty. Next up for the Minor Team will be Milford at home. Date & time yet to be confirmed.

U10 GIRLS: On Saturday morning the U10 Girls hosted Urris in a closely contested match. With some great displays & a tight match throughout it ended with a draw. In the middle was Sophie Murphy & Aine Monegle, while the forward line up included Twins Shayna & Cliona Mc Geoghegan, Rachel Crossan, Suzie Lafferty, Clodagh Farren & Keava Mc Laughln. Making their debut for the U10 Team was young Aishing O Neill & Kate O Donnell. Well Done to the young team. Next up for the Girls will be away to Moville on Saturday, with a 10:30am throw in.
