Senator O’Domhnaill
DONEGAL Senator Brian O Domhnaill has been charged with drink-driving.
The Irish Independent reports that Mr O Domhnaill, 36, from Killult, Falcarragh, is charged with begin drunk in charge of a vehicle in Tullygay, Letterkenny, on September 2, 2013.
He is also charged with failing to report an occurrence, failing to remain at the scene and failing to give appropriate information to Gardaí.
His solicitor Sean Cannon, who addressed the court in Irish, asked for the case to be adjourned pending a case at a higher court involving the Senator and the Irish language.
Judge Paul Kelly adjourned the case until September for mention.
