DONEGAL is baking in hot hot sunshine today – reaching the same temperatures as Barcelona.
Temperatures had reached 21C by late morning and will soar to 23C or 24C by the afternoon in inland areas of the county.
It will be slightly cooler on the coasts.
It’s good news for domestic tourism as Irish people choose to stay at home in hot weather.
And it’s good news for the increasing number of foreign tourists discovering the real Ireland up here in Donegal.
Seaside towns from Bundoran via Bunbeg to Buncrana are reporting bumper crowds as the school holidays kick in.
Today is also a special one for a local photographer whose incredible snaps of the county – and in particular Inishowen – has helped put Donegal on the map.
