Captains’ Day – Mr Frank Cook
The members wish the best of luck to Mr Frank Cook as he hosts Captains’ Day next Sunday the 29th of June. The Junior members of the Club compete for the Captains’ prize to Juniors on Saturday the 28th June.
Men’s Competitions
Sunday 22nd June – Sponsor North West Alarms – Singles Stableford.
Seamus Faulkner took on board some of the instructions he regularly imparts to the Junior members of the club in his role as Junior Convenor when accumulating 39pts to win the North West Alarms sponsored Singles Stableford. Donie McIntyre was second with the same score and missed on a break of tie. Charlie McAleavey and Frank Burke were also separated by a break of tie for 3rd and 4th places with Darren McDaid having the best Gross.

Ladies’ Competitions

Tuesday was one of those feel good days when it was a joy to have the health to play golf and appreciate the magnificent scenic place we live in. Marie McGarvey who as House Convenor is in charge of ensuring the Club House is in pristine condition also proved she can play golf too with a score of 70nett which included a 9 on the 8th hole. She will also receive the Anne Brennan Trophy. As runner up Rosemary Carr is once again in the winner’s enclosure with a fine score of 72nett. Mary McLaughlin, Anna Colhoun and Grainne McGettigan all had 73nett for 3rd, 4th and 5th place.

Spotted on the first fairway last Tuesday – a common lizard – which is one of the two species of reptiles we have in Ireland.
