100+ DRAW
The next 100+ Draw will take place on Wednesday June 25th. All ticket sellers are asked to have their subs with the co-ordinator before Sunday June 22nd as agreed by the committee, so the draw can take place on the June 25th.
OLD RAILWAY WALK
Come along to St Columbas Community Centre, Acres, Burtonport and register from 9.15 to join us as we celebrate the approach of the longest day of the year with our annual Summer’s Evening Walk on The Old Railway on Friday 20th June @10. Experience the Railway walk and its nocturnal sounds as you haven’t seen or heard it before. On our return we are planning a short session of music to add to the atmosphere as we enjoy a nice cup of tea and a biscuit before bedtime. We are looking forward to seeing you all. The cost of this event is €5 per person or €10 per family. Everyone is welcome.
LOTTO
The numbers drawn in the Naomh Muire Club Lotto on June 11thwere 4-6-8-13. There was no winner of the €1160 jackpot. Catherine Cork Bonner Rannyhual, Mary Bonner Rannyhual and Andrew Boyle Belcruit Mountain matched 3 numbers. The jackpot on June 18th is €1220. If you’re not in, you can’t win!
CEMETERY MASS
The Annual Cemetery Mass and Blessing of the Graves will be held at the New Cemetery Meendernasloe on Friday July 25th at7.30pm and at the Old Cemetery Annagry on Sunday July 27th at 3pm.
TEA PARTY
A tea Party in aid of Laura Boyle’s Charity Skydive will be held in Neddie’s Bar Mullaghduff on Saturday June 22nd from 12am. All monies raised at this event and the parachute jumps at Carrickfinn in August will go to Our Lady’s Hospital Crumlin, Simon, an various other charities. Thank you for your support.
OLD RAILWAY BURTONPORT
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to our recent scrap metal collection fundraiser. We raised a grand total of €510all of which is greatly appreciated as development and maintenance of this beautiful walk is ongoing. Current additional projects which are underway include: 1.The development of map boards which will be placed at the community centre and at both the start and end of the walk and replacement signage which will correspond with the uniform signage required to become part of the national trails group of walks; 2.The development of information leaflets which will inform the walker of the various options of distances and routes to take whilst incorporating the railway walk. We would like to thank Shaun Crean for taking on this job; 3. The replacement of the large stones with removable bollards and erecting fencing along steep embankments which will help promote safety for the walker and protection for the path.
PEIL NA MBAN
The U12 girls were at a blitz at An Tearmainn at The Burn Road on Saturday last. Thanks to An Tearmainn for a well run blitz and the ladies who provided refreshments for the teams and parents. Feature of the day was an A&B Matches, featuring a Gaeltacht Alliance Naomh Muire/Gaoth Dobhair V An Tearmainn and the winner here was certainly the Gaeltacht with Gaelic been the predominant language from all three teams in these games. Maith sibh.
GAA TRAINING
Peil na mBan will hold training session for U10s and U12s Girls on Thursdays from 5.30pm until 6.30pm. The training for U14 and U16 Minors and Ladies will be held between 6.30pm and 7.30pm also on Thursdays.
PEIL NA MBAN GAMES
The U14 County semi-final between Naomh Muire and Milford has been set for June 24th with the venue and time to be confirmed. The senior ladies will play Glenswilly on Saturday June 21st at the Banks.
GOOD LUCK
The Best of luck to Jade & Robbie O’Donnell on Sunday June 22nd who will be on duty with the County ladies team who play Armagh in the Ulster Semi-final in Lisnaskea Co.Fermanagh at 5pm. Supporters on your way back from Clones, drop in an support the ladies on their quest to get to the Ulster final and hopefully a treble of wins for Donegal on Sunday.
ROAD SIGNAGE
A new signage board is to be erected at the junction of the Calhame/Carrickfin County road and the access road to Donegal Airport. The sign is been prepared by the Donegal County Council Road Design Section and it is hoped to have this sign erected soon
CHURCH GATE COLLECTION
The Donegal Branch of the Irish Kidney Association wish to thank those who subscribed to Donor Week Emblems and the recent Church Gate collection in Annagry. The total amount collected was €810
WATER SAFETY
Irish Water Safety will carry out both Swimming Lessons and Safety & Rescue training in the Keadue and Cruit Island areas as usual this summer. Dates have been confirmed as follows: Week one begins on Monday July 14th and the second week on Monday August 11th. Children may attend lessons for both weeks or choose the week which suits them best. Swim lessons will be held at the block yard beach in Keadue from 10am each morning and are suitable for children aged from around four years upwards. Registration will take place from 9.30pm on both Monday mornings. Safety and rescue training will take place at the bridge at the entrance of Cruit Island from 1pm, and is suitable for children over twelve years of age who are competent swimmers. Registration will take place at the bridge from 1pm. The cost per child for weekly sessions is €30.
