Donegal TD’s Thomas Pringle and Padraig Mac Lochlainn have voiced their support for Gay equality in Ireland, during a live TV debate on the Vincent Browne show tonight.
The topic on the show was about homophobia in Ireland, and the debate centered mainly on the issue of gay marriage.
Independent TD Pringle, insisted that hetrosexual couples should show their support for gay couples who want to have the same marriage rights as everybody else in Ireland.
Pringle insisted gay marriage should recognised by the state.
Mac Lochlainn was jokingly quizzed whether the IRA was a homophobic organisation by presenter Vincent Browne.
Mac Lochlainn said he had no idea, but said any Sinn Féin member he knows, and anyone that believes in Republicanism base their beliefs on the 1916 proclamation which believes in equality for all.
He said he would challenge any republican who thought differently on the issue.
