A LOBSTER pot fisherman saved from the sea by a sharp-eyed – and bionic-hearing – farmer has been released from hospital.
The father of four was treated at Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry after his dramatic rescue on Sunday.
Farmer John Grant had heard the cries for help from half a mile away.
Thanks to 23-year-old John’s decision to drive on his quad bike to the local beach in Clonmany to further investigate the cries for help, the father of four was later helped to safety by RNLI crews with help from an angling boat and the Sligo Rescue helicopter.
The dad rescued from the sea was treated for hypothermia but was released from hospital in Derry last night.
John says he is “just relieved” the fisherman survived, insisting he was just in the right place at the right time.
