A cycling event will take place this Thursday in Burtonport, to help raise funds for the An Post Malin to Mizen cycling challenge which takes place on June Bank Holiday Weekend.
The cycle kicks off this Thursday evening in Burtonport, and there will be two options available to those who participate.
Cyclists can choose between participating in a 20k cycle or a 40k cycle around the Rosses.
Registration is open from 6pm at the Burtonport Community Centre.
Burtonport man Owen Coyle, is one of eight cyclists from An Post, who are set to cycle from Mizen to Malin Head on the June Bank Holiday Weekend for charity
There will be two helpers accompanying the eight cyclists on the five day charity trek.
The other cyclists joining Owen Coyle, are Paul Herrity, Martin McGinley, Liam O’Grady, Eamon McGlinchey, Mark Nee, Jarlaith Lee and Austin Lee.
Those seven men are all based in Letterkenny, so Owen Coyle will be flying the flag for the Rosses.
The boys have been in training for months in preparation for the 678 km marathon.
It is hoped a large crowd turns out for the fundraising cycle on Thursday, with all proceeds going to raise funds for charity.
So get down to the Burtonport Community Centre on Thursday, and show your support to the lads from An Post, before they undertake the epic journey from Malin to Mizen in a fortnight’s time.
