Are you one of those who have successfully completed the NW 10K recently? Did you get the T-shirt? Whether you did or you didn’t, there’s a new T-shirt about to hit Donegal. The Donegal Marathon 2014 T-shirt will be exclusively available on Sunday, 24th August 2014!
This magnificent piece of running apparel cannot be bought in any of our wonderful sports shops around the county; nor can it be purchased online.
There are only two ways to earn this unique piece of clothing. One is through sweat, dedication, and the occasional blister, which will be worth every stitch and thread as you put in the graft for the ultimate running challenge of completing a full or half marathon. The other way is perhaps a little easier. Just mark the date in your calendar, get yourself registered nice and early, and walk the half Marathon.
This year’s event is a little bit of history in the making as it is the first time since 1983 that the Donegal Marathon has been staged. These are exciting times and it is a testament to the incredible upsurge in the popularity of running in Donegal today.
The marathon promises to be a social as well as sporting event that reaches out to everyone. The organisers are determined that the marathon can be anything that you want it to be. At the top end, there promises to be top quality competition for the various categories, while the emphasis will also be firmly on making it a fun day out for entrants and supporters alike.
This is a socially inclusive sporting event and you don’t need to be a super-fit star of the athletics world to take part. You just need some motivation, enthusiasm, and a big dollop of spirit, to make the Donegal Marathon 2014 a special moment for you that will live in your heart long after the dust has settled and the times have been logged.
If you are planning to do the Donegal Half-Marathon or Full Marathon, there is a special early bird option that offers the cheapest possible price with €40 for the full marathon and €25 for the half marathon, but you can only avail of this offer until the 30th June, so register now.
