Donegal Daily’s Fitness Columnist Emmet Rushe will host one of the sessions on Saturday morning as Letterkenny Musical Society’s Relay for Life Team continue their fundraising for the Irish Cancer Society at Pinehill Studios, Letterkenny.
And everyone is welcome to come along and get their weeked off to an energetic start in an action packed session from 12 noon to 1.30pm that includes Zumba and Piloxing plus art sessions for children.
“We are so lucky to be able to avail of the services of three fantastic trainers – Maire Kelly for Zumba, Sarah Marie of SMFitness for the Piloxing and of course Emmet Rushe of Rushe Fitness who is now so well known for his brilliant advice in his Donegal Daily column every Monday.
What’s more we have even super art workshops with Crona Kerr for children (aged 5 and over) at the same time, so people can bring their kids while they take part,” said Lorraine Porter the captain of the LMS Relay for Life Team.
She added that there is no set charge for Saturday’s sessions either, with anyone who comes along just being asked to make a donation on the day.
The idea behind the ‘Get Ready for Relay’ event is that there will be three half-hour sessions with everyone urged to come along and take part from 12 noon until 1.30pm.
“One of the key educational messages of Relay for Life, Donegal is that a healthy and active lifestyle can help in the prevention of cancer. Saturday’s event will certainly be healthy and active, but it is also a fun event and if you’ve never gone along to classes like this before it’s a great opportunity to get a taste of what it’s like in a really fun environment,” Lorraine concluded.
