A total of THREE housing states have now been raided by the gang.

Up to 13 cars were entered on two housing estates last night in both Termon and Kilmacrennan.

Six cars were entered on the Coyneview estate in Termon and another seven cars were entered at Lennon View in Kilmacrennan.

It comes just a week after another six cars were entered while they were unlocked on another housing estate in Buncrana.

Among the items taken was a laptop computers, sat navs, personal items and small sums of cash.

Garda Inspector Michael Harrison told Donegal Daily that this is the first time such incidents have taken place on an organised basis.

He appealed to people to lock their cars at night or during the day when they are unoccupied.

“This is a new departure and we have not seen cars being entered on what appears to be an organised basis.

“All these cars that were entered were unlocked. We would appeal to people to lock their cars at all times.

“We suspect that this is some kind of organised operation in which people are targeting housing estates,” he said.
