A WALKER had to be airlifted to hospital after a serious fall on Errigal last night.
The teenage victim has been rushed to Letterkenny General Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.
Donegal Mountain Rescue Volunteers were part of the operation attending to the injured climber on Errigal.
The group says the climber was located in a quite inaccessible area and the Rescue 118 helicopter from Sligo had to airlift two DMRT members onto the mountain whilst a five person stretcher party began climbing to the location.
A second walker was also located on site. He was taken down by stretcher after being found with cuts and bruises.
The first walker, who was airlifted to hospital, appears to have suffered cuts, bruises and a suspected broken or dislocated shoulder.
His injuries are not life threatening.
