The Seniors and Reserves are back in league action this weekend. Both teams meet Termon in O’Donnell Park with the Reserve game on at 5pm on Saturday and the Seniors on at 1pm on Sunday.
The Senior Hurlers had a good win in their opening Táin League Div. 3 game last week against Mattock Rangers in Garvaghey.
The Minor Boys A take on Glenfin at home this Wednesday (2nd April) with the B team away to Buncrana. Games throw-in at 6:45pm.
Good luck to Maxi, Lee, Daragh and Conor as the Donegal U21’s take on Armagh in the Ulster semi-final on Wednesday (April 2nd) in Omagh with an 8pm throw-in.
The U14 Boys A team and B team had their Tuesday night games postponed. The A team are away to Fanad Gaels on Sunday and the B team are at home to Red Hugh’s. The C team lost to Gaels on Friday and take on Termon this week with day and time tbc.
The Minor Hurlers opened their account in the league with a victory over Setanta in O Donnell Park on Thursday whilst in Ballyshannon after a close first half the U14 Hurlers gradually pulled away to gain a good win over Aodh Ruadh. The Minor Hurlers are away to MacCumhaills and the U14 hurlers play MacCumhaills at home on the same day. U16, 16 and minor hurling training continues every Tuesday at 5pm.
The U14 Girls begin training outdoors this week, Thursday, April 3rd from 4:50pm until 6pm. County players are in Lifford at 7pm. First home game is fixed for 6.15pm on Tuesday April 15 against Letterkenny Gaels. There may be a friendly on Sunday, details to be confirmed.
U16 girls are at GameOn this evening (Wed) at 6.50pm.
The Sunday Morning Academy begins this Sunday, April 6th at 11am. All coaches are asked to be in the Park for 10:30am sharp. New members from all over Letterkenny are welcome. Anyone interested in getting involved in Coaching should contact Jim Clarke, Club Coaching Officer on 086-3131550 or Sunday morning Co-ordinator Ciaran Maguire on 087-4133372. We especially are on the lookout for coaches for our girl’s only group and female coaches are most welcome. Team managers are asked not to arrange challenge matches or training sessions for the Park while the Academy is on.
Don’t forget that the Club App is available on iTunes and Google to download for just €0.99c. It will be a great way of keeping up with the latest news on fixtures and events. It will also be available on Windows shortly.
Coaches and managers are reminded to be careful about what areas of the Training Pitch they use, make sure to stay off the main playing area when running drills that do not require goals or lots of space. The training field will close again for a few weeks this summer though for a shorter period than last year.
This week’s Lotto numbers are: 5-6-15-18. There were 2 x match 3 winners each getting €50. Dermot Higgins, Lurgybrack (card) and Gerard Doherty, 15 Mc Neely Villas (Adrian). Next week’s jackpot is €1,250.
