Cockhill Celtic Yths 5
Gleneely Colts 1
Cockhill opened the scoring on 5 minutes when Daniel Doherty played Alan Fletcher through on goal and after surviving a tackle from the Gleneely keeper Fletcher broke into the box and passed the ball into the net.
The home side bossed the early possession and double their lead on 13 minutes when Jack McDaid powered a header past the helpless visiting keeper after a corner delivered into the box by Daniel Doherty.
The Youths went three up on the stroke off halftime when Aiden Porter got on the end of a through ball from Michael Noone to chip the advancing keeper from just outside the area and the ball nestled neatly into the keepers empty net.
Gleneely battled hard for the first period but fell further behind on 63 minutes when Alan Fletcher got his second and the Youths teams fourth after he glanced a header to the net from an Aiden Porter Right wing cross with the keeper having no chance diving high to his left.
Gleneely got their rewards for a gallant effort when Paul Doherty broke a challenge in midfield to advance into the area and won a fifty fifty challenge with Cockhills sub keeper John Campbell to slot home to the empty net with the home defence looking on. Michael Coyle wrapped up the victory for the home side on 82 minutes when he headed to the neat after a great chipped delivery from Shane McClean.
