Letterkenny Chamber is busy this week getting ready for the annual St.Patrick’s Day parade.
Organisers have St.Patrick’s Day themed hats, socks, earrings and of course our shamrocks to get us in the mood for the big day.
“St. Patrick’s Day is over a weekend again this year and that always results in a busy weekend for Letterkenny” says Toni Forrester, Letterkenny Chamber.
“We have our fingers crossed for good weather as it really helps reflect all the effort that goes in to the floats and people are happy to line the streets. We hope the parade will be colourful and lively celebrating international culture.”
The Parade starts at 3pm with music and entertainment from our MC Keith Fletcher. Judges are strategically positioned to choose the category and overall winners, with the winner announcements from the reviewing platform immediately after the Parade.
The overall winning entry gets the Danny Doherty Perpetual Plaque plus a cash prize and over the years we’ve had some amazing entries.
Organisers say they would love to see as many people as possible to support the participants so why not come along to the streets of Letterkenny on Monday, wear your green and have a great family day out.
