The Letterkenny Gaels minor team got their, and the club’s, competitive season off to winning ways with a hard fought win over local rivals Glenswilly at a wet and windy Páirc na nGael on Sunday.
Both sides exchanged scores until half time with Glenswilly ending the first period with a one point lead.
However the match ended with the Gaels coming out on top by the narrowest of margins with a winning score of 1.10 to 2.06.
The goal was scored by Sean McDonagh who also shared the scoring on the day with Cormac Cannon and Paddy Doherty. Next on the fixture list is current minor club champions Buncrana at home next Sunday.
