DYLAN, the baby porpoise, is free again.

The little mammal swam out to sea a short time ago from the shoreline in Moville where he was found yesterday.

Named after the Donegal town’s famous Bob Dylan music festival, the porpoise had been in the Bredagh River this morning after returning to the shore.

He was found by local man Anthony Craig, from River Row in the town, when he was out walking his dog.

Dylan was sent back out to sea yesterday but returned.

This morning he looked dazed and weak.

But after help from local people Dylan was successfully returned to the waters of Lough Foyle.

“We just hope now that he has gone and is safe,” said Mr Craig.

Local people say they will watch for the next tides and hope that Dylan has seen the last of Moville (until the music festival of course!)
