Buncrana GAA Notes for Week Ending Sunday 23rd February 2014
Coláistí Inis Eoghain in first-ever McLarnon Cup Final The Club was well represented on Sunday as Inishowen Colleges saw off the challenge of Patrician College Carrickmacross to make it to their first ever colleges provincial final. Rising senior county player Darrach O’Connor was man of the match achieving a personal tally of 3-06. Darrach obviously didn’t spend too long at the club dinner dance last night where he was a special guest and presented many of the awards! Kevin McLaughlin also scored an important goal at a crunch time in the game and John Campbell pitched in with 4 points too. Caolan McGonagle, Shane McLaughlin, Jack O’Loughlin and Sam Doherty also played a big part in this historic day for Inishowen and are great source of pride to their Club. Well done lads!
Scor na nOg It’s all systems go now as attention will be focused on events in Castlebar this Saturday. Our really talented team from the club will be going all out to add a National title to their Ulster one in the Scor na nOg National Final. It would be great if members could show their support and attend the event. Anyone who would like to order tickets for the March 1st Final should contact Grainne, the Club Secretary, at secretary.buncrana.donegal@gaa.ie or 0864650200. Tickets cost €20 each. A bus will be travelling on Saturday 1st March and some places are available but you should book ASAP otherwise they will be gone. Good luck to the kids and their director Patricia Tinney Doherty.
Club Dinner Dance and Presentation Night was a good night’s craic for all who attended and anyone who is a bit hazy about the event can remind themselves of what went down by checking out the Club Facebook page! Thanks to the Inishowen Gateway and staff for their great hospitality and the band, Off The Rails, who got the crowd off their feet and onto the dance-floor! The Club would like to thank clubman and senior county player Darrach O’Connor and County Development Officer Michael McMenamin for presenting most of the awards on the night. Big thanks too to Aine Daly, Claire McCarron and Gráinne Uí Chearáinfor trojan work in organising everything.

They won two and lost won but was very unlucky to be defeated by Kevin Lynches. Buncrana played a brilliant game and put in a mighty effort but Kevin Lynches had luck on their side. Sincere thanks to all the parents who travelled with us today. Well Done Boys
