A young man who came to Donegal to complete a pre-marriage course ended up getting drunk and crashing his car.
Gerard McConville, 24, came to the county with another couple and ended up socialising after a meal on February 2nd last.
The young electrician struck the Port Roundabout in Letterkenny before colliding with a chip van.
He later failed a breath test.
Solicitor Patsy Gallagher said it was an unfortunate incident.
Judge Paul Kelly fined McConville of 21 Suffolk Street, Belfast, €300 and disqualified him from driving for 2 years.
