There is growing anger at the condition of Donegal’s roads following today’s snowfalls.
A number of motorists have had lucky escapes after their vehicles left roads at various locations.
This pictures shows a car which skidded off the Back of Errigal road a short time ago.
Many claim roads have not been treated.
Some motorists have been stuck in their cars for up to two hours after roads became blocked.
However Donegal County Council say they are utilizing all of their resources with their 27 gritters and also snow ploughs out on the roads.
A spokesman told Donegal Daily that with further snow expected this evening, all gritters will be on standby to treat roads and have asked people to find updates on the council’s facebook page or on twitter.
People have taken to social media to express their anger.
One poster said “Where the hell are Donegal County Council today? Is there no snow plan for Donegal? It’s a joke.”
There are also serious delays in many parts of the county with Meenaroy impassable.
Pupils at Ballinamore Secondary School were forced to stay indoors when buses coming towards Letterkenny could not pass over Meenaroy.
There are also huge tailbacks on Barnesmore Gap with a number of vehicles including a Blood Transfusion van becoming stuck in heavy snow.
Rain is expected to spread to all parts of the county later.
However, Met Eireann has warned the country is in for further storms including ice and further falls of snow.
