A probation order is to be carried out on a 15 year old boy who was aggressive to Gardai after being caught swinging a bicycle chain.

The teenager, who cannot be named, appeared before Letterkenny District Court.
Gardai received a report of youths acting suspiciously at Circular Road in Letterkenny.
The youth was approached by Gardai but began showing off and was abusive to them.
He was eventually arrested and brought to Letterkenny Garda station.
Solicitor Patsy Gallagher said it proved a sobering experience for the teen when he was handcuffed and brought to the station.
“He would be tall and strong for his age but there would be no malice with him.
“He apologises to Gardai. He is a different young man today and reverted back to his childhood when he was put in patrol car and into an eight by eight cell,” said Mr Gallagher.
Judge Paul Kelly ordered a probation report to be carried out on the teenager.
