The Coiste Scaoil Saor Ó Ailse (Break Free from Cancer) Cancer Support & Online Information group is to welcome the Marie Keating Foundation to Gaoth Dobhair.
The mobile unit will visit Ionaid Naomh Padraig on April 10th next.

What is the Marie Keating Foundation.
Mobile Information Units Mobile Information Unit Service The Marie Keating Foundation has three purpose built Mobile Information Units which travel around the Eastern, Western and Southern regions of Ireland. There is a nurse on board who is available to provide cancer information to the general public free of charge in an informal and non-intrusive way. This is not a screening service.
We can facilitate confidential one to one consultations and information presentations on our Mobile Information Units. The Unit is stocked with take home information leaflets on Bowel, Lung, Mouth, Skin, Testicular, Prostate, Cervical, Ovarian and Breast cancer. Upcoming unit locations can be viewed here

Q. Where and when do the Units operate?

Q. What can I expect from a Mobile Information Unit visit?
A. Our nurses give cancer information presentations on the Units as well as using practical awareness tools such as the smokerlyzer, tar in a jar and body fat scales to help to illustrate our messaging. The Units are stocked with take home information leaflets on Bowel, Lung, Mouth, Skin, Testicular, Prostate, Cervical, Ovarian and Breast cancer.
Our Nurses can talk to people on a one to one basis in a private area on board about any concerns that a person might have about cancer, either for themselves or for someone else (family member or friend).
