INVESTIGATION INTO DEATH OF DONEGAL MAN UPGRADED TO MURDER

GARDAI and the PSNI have upgraded a hit-and-run death of a Donegal man to murder.

Pat John McCafferty (49), a native of Pettigo, died after the incident near Belleek, Co Fermanagh, on Sunday.

A 40-year-old man arrested by gardai in Pettigo has been released without charge. Gardai say a file has been sent to the DPP. A PSNI spokesman confirmed the death had been upgraded to a murder investigation.
