GARDA OFFICERA victim of thieves on a night out in Donegal has warned others to be careful.

Nicolle Toland had cash and a phone stolen whilst out celebrating her birthday in Letterkenny on Friday.

The club later recovered her purse – but the cash and the phone with a combined value of €500 were taken.

“I hadn’t even started drinking when this happened,” said Nicolle.

“I worked hard for that money and for that phone and to have them stolen like this is just horrible.

“I would just warn other people to be vigilant; I would hate for this to happen to somebody else.”

Gardai are investigating the incident.
