Natalie McGranaghan, from Leitir Ard in Letterkenny, appeared at the town’s District Court accused of using threatening and abusive behaviour.
Inspector Michael Harrison said 25-year-old McGranaghan was arrested at 2.55am on December 4.
Gardai intervened in the town when they saw a woman attempting to assault someone.
She refused to give her name to Gardai, refused to move on and was arrested.
After spending some time in the cells she eventually gave her details to officers.
Defence solicitor Patsy Gallagher said his client admitted using threatening and abusive behaviour and failing to comply with the direction of Gardai.
“This incident only arose because the male she was attempting to assault had spit at her,” said Mr Gallagher.
“My client has anger issues which are exacerbated through drink. She is a first year student in business and deeply regrets the incident.”
Judge Paul Kelly ordered her to make a €100 donation to Donegal Youth Services by February 17th.
