LYIT TRAFFIC LIGHTS ON THE BLINK…..AGAIN!

At this stage some people think they are jinxed!tRAFFIC SOLUTIONS

A set of traffic lights outside the LYIT are on the blink again.

The lights remained out of action yesterday after they were struck by a vehicle.

The lights have been slated by many after a series of ‘stop-start’ incidents since they were installed at the start of the college year in September.

Initially the lights were out of sequence and covers had to be put over the lights on the Port Road.

The lights were then fixed and appeared that all was fine again.

However a row between the installer of the lights and the company responsible for the traffic management system at the entrance to the college led to the lights being completed removed.

This row was finally resolved after Traffic Solutions Ltd were paid for their work after the overseeing company went into examinership.

That state of peace lasted for a couple of short weeks until yesterday’s debacle.

A series of cones have since been installed on the Port Road and no right turn is allowed into the college coming from the Polestar Roundabout or exiting the LYIT.

The only person who appears to be happy is the security man overseeing the temporary traffic solution at present.

It is hoped that the lights can be restored by this morning!
