DONEGAL Gardaí have launched a crackdown on tax-dodging motorists.
Officers are running a series of checkpoints in the county over the next few days, checking cars for tax, insurance and NCT certificates.
There were lengthy tailbacks in Burt yesterday evening during the latest operation.
Several motorists were questioned for failing to have their vehicles taxed.
There were also a number of motorists who didn’t have NCT certificates or insurance.
It’s understood the checkpoints will be a feature on several roads in the county over the coming days.
Customs officers are also checking UK vehicles which haven’t registered or paid for VRT.
