A man who stole a €28 bottle of aftershave form a Letterkenny chemist has been ordered to make a donation of €150 to charity.
Sebastian Graniacyny, of 37 The Gardens, Ballymacool was charged with theft at Magee’s Chemist on April 25th, 2013.
Letterkenny District Court heard how the accused was followed by a security guard as far as the Courtyard Shopping Centre where Gardai were called.
Graniacyny was approached by Gardai and he became aggressive.
He admitted having the aftershave but claimed it was a sample bottle of Hugo Boss Night aftershave.
Solicitor Niall Sheridan said he believed there may have been alcohol involved and that his client claimed it was a sample bottle and was not locked away.
Judge Kelly ordered Graniacyny to pay €150 to the Society of St Vincent De Paul.
