THE management of St Eunan’s U-14 girls squad has paid tribute to them for their dedication this year after losing the county final in cruel circumstances at the weekend.
The girls led throughout the final against Moville, only to lose by a point to a goal scored six minutes into injury time.
Manager Decky O’Donnell with coaches Greg Harkin, Eimhear Bradley and Liam McCann however say there was certainly no lost pride in the efforts of the girls who put in a fanstastic display before losing out by 6-01 to 3-09.
“The girls have been brilliant all year and I didn’t want that to pass without acknowledging the tremendous efforts of every member of the squad,” said Decky.
“I hope to see all the girls back next year for the U-14s and U-16s. Every one of them played for their club with pride this year and we’re all very very proud of them.”
The girls had their annual end of season meal at the Mount Errigal Hotel after the game – where their biggest supporters, Cathal, Thomas, Noel and Niamh joined in the craic.
