There have been rare sightings of pine martens in Co Donegal.
According to the Gweebarra Conservation Group, there have been sightings of the elusive creatures in both Derryloughan in Glenties and Cloghercor in recent weeks.
The sightings have taken place at dusk.
The animals are also known as Cat Crainn (tree cats) and are usually found in their stronghold of The Burren in Co Clare.
It is understood the pine marten’s waste laden with rowan berries also provided a key clue that the creatures are about.
The Gweebarra Conservation Group have asked who may have spotted the shy creatures to get in touch.
