IT makes you wonder what sort of person would do this – sentence these four innocent kittens to death.
But that is what happened in County Donegal.
Their owner took them to a vet here in the county and asked for them to be put down.
The case shocked both the vet – and animal welfare officers.
Thankfully the vet refused to put them to sleep and called in officers from the local charity ‘Animals In Need Donegal’.
The Donegal Town charity says it is horrified that anyone would consider putting the animals down, without even trying to find new homes.
“The four brothers were taken to the vet to be put to sleep purely because the owner couldn’t be bothered finding new owners,” said a spokesperson.
“They the are super friendly and petted and the innocent victims of lack of neutering.”
If anyone can offer a loving home, contact Animals In Need in Donegal Town.
