The Mullachdubh Fife and Drum band have won their eight senior All Ireland flute band section in a row at Fleadh Cheoil na h-eireann.
Yesterdays competiton was a tight affair against Rosses neighbours Mahery, but experience of competition saw Mullaaghdubh through in the end.
There was great celebration with the band on the victory parade down through the Bogside to the Guildhall Square and later when they returned to homebase in Mullaghdubh, where the strong home support cheered them as the paraded from Calhame to The Schoolhouse in Mullaghdubh.
After a great rendition of their winning ensamble, the cheers of delight could be heard far and wide. A big night celebration took place in the village afterwards!
There was a wee bit of sadness was that Band leader Noreen Boyle had her last outing as band leader yesterday and what a way to go becoming An All Ireland champion again.
Noreen is off to the middle east to take up a teaching position in Abu Dhabi.
The band and the entire community wishes her well as she will be a hard act to follow as our leader. Adh mór Noreen agus Mullachdubh Abú!
