They have disappeared from our skies for a while.
But the stunning Aurora Borealis have returned to the skies over Co Donegal with spectacular results.
Members of the Buncrana Camera Club caught this image of the stunning light display which are also commonly known as the Northern Lights.
The photo was taken at Dunree Head on the grounds of the Dunree Fort and Military Museum.
Last year thousands of visitors flocked from across the country to see the amazing dancing lights.
Rory Adam Porter, a veteran of Northern Light pictures, said it was great to see the display return.
“We are so honoured to be able to see this spectacular natural happening.
“They were gone for a while but they are back now and it’s great to be able to let people know they are here.
“Everyone should see them at least once in their life. They’re breathtaking,” he said.
