Milford U16s picked up their second defeat in-a-row after they lost by seven points against Cloughaneely on Monday night. CLG BnaG were two points up with five minutes remaining, but a disastrous finish saw them leave Falcarragh with nothing. Luke Barrett’s side raced into a 1-4 to 0-2 lead with the Cloughaneely full back scoring an own goal and Duncan Patterson and Kane Barrett both scoring a brace of points.
However, playing against a strong wind, Cloughaneely came back into the game and were two points ahead at half-time, with Barrett getting the only point for Milford during Cloughaneely’s purple patch.
Na Galloglaigh got off to a good start in the second half with Kane Barrett scoring a goal, and Connor Gormley adding a point. Gavin McFadden came up to kick a ‘45’, but sloppy play in defence allowed Cloughaneely to score a goal. Shane McNamee scored a goal, and Kane Barrett kicked two frees to put Milford ahead by two with five minutes left . However, Cloughaneely scored 2-3 at the death to take the points. Gavin Grier, Shane McNamee, Connor Gormley and Luke Trearty put in excellent performances for Milford, and did not deserve to be on the losing side.
