An anchor which is understood to be up to 150 years old was pulled from the water at the Mall, Ballyshannon yesterday.

The anchor is believed to be from the time of the wooden ships and was built between 1800 and 1900.

The anchor was passed on to the Ballyshannon museum who will have it on display in the coming weeks after they preserve it.

Freinds Paul Gallagher, Pierce Harte, Micky Doherty and Eddie Mc Fadden all posed with the anchor after helping to salvage it.

A real Donegal Catch if ever there was one!
