Seniors & Reserves
Both teams were in league action at the weekend in Carndonagh. The reserves gave a good display to win their game fairly comfortably despite fielding an understrength team. They lead the all the way through and there was again some very good performances from the young (and not so young) players on the team. Well done to all involved. Final score: Red Hughs 2-11 Carndonagh 1-7.
The senior game was a very tight and tense affair with the lads playing well for the most part and they lead at half time 1-5 to 0-7. The second half was very close with Red Hughs having plenty of possession and were very unfortunate to lose by a single point in the end. Final score: Red Hughs 1-10 Carndonagh 1-11. This was a disappointing result with the lads probably being the best team throughout and deserved something from the game. There were plenty of good points in the performance though to take into the upcoming games.
Both sides are in action again next Saturday 20th July. They are fixed to play Downings away with the reserve game at 6.00pm and the senior at 7.30pm. Good luck to both teams and all come out and support the boys in these important games.
