Finn Harps can look to rebuild their season after a solid display against league leaders Longford Town at Finn Park last night.
Peter Huttons side were looking for their first win in six outings but were probably happy to settle for a draw in the end.
Having beaten Longford on two previous occasions, Harps went into the game in hopeful mood.
Both sides had opportunities in a tight opening half with David O’Sullivan going close for the visitors while Kevin McHugh was well marshaled throughout despite looking lively.
Harps could have opened the deadlock from a James Doherty cross but McHugh could not connect properly and his shot went wide.
It could have gone horribly wrong for Harps when Longford appealed for a penalty.
Gary Shaw looked as if he had beaten Harps ‘keeper Ciaran Gallagher but Gallagher collided with him.
Longford appealed but the referee waved the claims away.
Peter Hutton will be pleased with a share of the spoils in a game that could have went either way.
The draw against the league leaders could well give them a sense of belief that has been missing form the team recently.
