Presenters Marianne Ashcroft of “Front Row Centre” and Adrian Barrett of “Left of the Dial” will be joining forces to produce a special Horslips-themed edition of Front Row Centre – and Horslips bassist Barry Devlin confirmed he will come along and lend a hand!
The playlist will be selected from listeners’ requests submitted via Facebook.
Both Marianne and Adrian are long-time Horslips fans and are delighted that Barry will be in the studio on the day to help present the show.
They promise “two hours of Horslips mayhem, with other surprises in store” – and they will present Barry with one of the new Inishowen Live T-shirts which have just gone on sale via the Republic of Inishowen Design Company website.
The show runs on Sunday evening 7th July from 5 – 7 p.m and is already creating a buzz among Horslips fans on Facebook and Twitter.
The one-off show has been sponsored by the Bonner Inn Culdaff Arms who have their own reason for anticipating Barry’s return to Inishowen. Last year when four members of the band called in to the Bonner Inn, three of them signed a door in the bar, however Barry’s signature was not included.
Barry will be calling in to complete the set during his visit.
Proprietor Brian Bonner will be absent on the day, but is looking forward to listening in to the show from the USA over the internet.
McGrory’s Culdaff is providing hospitality to Barry and his wife during his visit.
The Carndonagh-based online radio station launched on 29 March and has been running on a daily six-hour live schedule which is then repeated throughout the night. It has listeners all over the world and its website at www.inishowenlive.com receives about 2000 hits per day.
The station is run by dedicated volunteers and they would welcome anyone who might want to come along and join them for the summer – full training is provided. Call up to the studio at 7 Malin Street, call 086 031 4726 or email studio@inishowenlive.com.
