The second staging of the county pool championships will take place on the 13th and 14th of July in the Finn Valley centre, Stranorlar.
Interest in the sport within the county has rarely been higher. Two teams representing the county took part in the All Ireland Championships recently and Shaun Sharkey, Dungloe, is currently in Blackpool playing for the Irish men’s team in the World Championships.
Last year’s Championships were a massive success. The Harbour Bar, Killybegs, came out top in the team event and Gareth Kirwan from Letterkenny won the prestigious individual title. This year promises to be another great weekend with eight championship tables being installed in the venue. A plate event is also being run in the team event so each team is guaranteed plenty of pool on the day.
