The All-Ireland Féile comes to the club this week with 3 teams competing. The U14 boys won through to Feile by winning last year’s Co. U13 title and they will travel to The Loup (Derry) where they will be hosted and play their games starting with the hosts on Friday at 1:30pm before taking on Sean Stinson’s (Antrim) and The Burren (Down) on Saturday.
The U13 Boys will host in Div. 5 and their guests will be St. Anne’s from Dublin, who they will meet in O’Donnell Park on Friday afternoon from 1:30pm and on Saturday they travel to St. Michael’s in Derry.
The U14 Girls are also hosting this year and their guests will be West Clare Gaels who they will meet on Friday in O’Donnell Park before hosting the games on Saturday including Kilkenny City and N. Conaill. O’Donnell Park will also host the Div. 2 girl’s semi-finals on Saturday evening from 4pm.
The U14 Girls are holding a training session at O’Donnell Park from 6.30pm this Wednesday. All available players should attend. This will be followed by a meeting in the clubhouse at 8.15pm to finalise details for the Feile. One parent of each player is asked to attend this half hour meeting where a final itinerary will be given out. New tracksuits will also be given out at this meeting.
All teams will take part in the parade in Derry City on Friday evening from 7pm.
The Seniors had no game last week and will meet N. Conaill at home in the final round robin game in this year’s Championship on Sunday in the Park with a 3pm throw-in.
The Reserves travelled to Gaoth Dobhair and came away with another impressive victory despite missing several players winning by 2-10 to 0-11. They too will take on N. Conaill this weekend in their final round robin match in the championship group stage, throw-in on Sunday is at 1:30pm.
The Juniors travelled to N. Conaill on Friday night and suffered a third straight league defeat.
The U14 Boys had a big win over N. Padraig, Muff in their championship quarter final in Buncrana on Monday night and will meet either Ardara or N. Conaill in the county semi-final on Wednesday, July 3rd.
The U16 league has been put back by a week. The Div. 1 team will take on St. Mary’s, Convoy away in their first game with the Div. 2 team also on their travels to Cloughaneely. Days and times of these games will be confirmed in next week’s notes.
The U12’s will make the short journey to play the Gaels next Monday (July 1st) for Go Games while the U11’s will be at home to MacCumhaills.
The Minor Hurlers play Burt in the B League Final this Thursday at 7pm in the new pitch in Convoy.
The U14 Hurlers beat Burt in the A Championship Quarter Final. They now play Buncrana in the semi-final. U16 and Minor hurling training continues every Tuesday at 5pm.
