There was a time many years ago that Jarla Duffy got into trouble for scribbling on schoolyard walls.
Now principals from across the county are queuing up to get him to add a bit of colour to their schools.
The well-known Letterkenny-based cartoonist is once again planning to get his box of colours out to visit schools across the summer months.
What was once a dreary schoolyard wall can be transformed in a matter of hours to become a focal point for the entire school.
Be it a certain member of the Donegal GAA team or an educational theme, Jarla has an eye for all the right caricatures.
Jarla says he loves the feedback from teachers and pupils alike when he brings his own bit of colour to schools.
“I might not have been the best pupil in the school in my own days but I really loved art and being able to express myself through art.
“Now I love the reaction of pupils and teachers alike. It’s nice to be able to give something back and to hopefully make a school a nicer place for pupils to come each day,” he said.
Jarla is already heavily booked for the summer months so schools planning to freshen up that dull corner of their school are advised to act fast.
