Voice of Older People Donegal will pull the shutters down on its Raphoe premises next month.
Mark McCollum, who has worked tirelessly for the organisation, admitted that he knew it was going to happen.
“Funding has been closed off to the voluntary sector and we knew we had no funding on the horizon so we’re in the middle of shutting down,” he said.
Mark and his organisation spoke out for older people, giving them a voice in life and in the political world, lobbying on their behalf.
The group’s final act will be to launch a DVD in Ballybofey in July, with a collection of stories from around the county.
