Mark English has withdrawn from the European Team Championships on June 23rd.
The Letterkenny athlete is understood to be bitterly disappointed as is his coach Theresa McDaid but there has been some concern about his form in recent weeks.
Ireland senior team manager with Athletics Ireland, Patsy McGonagle says he respects the decision.
“As manager I respect their decision in view of the pending European under 23 champs in three weeks time and wish him well,” said Patsy.
The only Donegal representative now left in the team is national pole vault record holder Tori Pena who arrives in Dublin early Thursday for the event at the Morton Stadium.
