Letterkenny Golf Club Ladies Notes
Following the recent dreadful weather it was great to see how efficiently the course has drained and how well the ladies were able to score in McGees Butchers (now known as Joe’s Butchers) members’ competition. In third place with 35 points was Marian Keating, Peggy Forde was second with 36 points and the winner, with a tremendous score of 42 points, was Anne Cannon.
The Lady Beginner programme has commenced with seven ladies taking their first of three group lessons with Club Professional, Seamus Clinton. These lessons allow ladies ‘have a go’ at golf and determine whether they would like to take up the sport and join Letterkenny Golf Club. The Ladies Club has run a successful Beginners Programme for a number of years and has seen many ladies, of all ages and ability, join and enjoy both the golfing and social aspects of the club.
Following feedback with regard to the monthly draws for medal competitions and for the ‘major’ competitions, new procedures have been introduced, on a trail basis, in relation to draw sheet. Please look at the notice board in the ladies locker room for details.
This holiday weekend is the culmination of many months of hard work by the Centenary Committee. There is an exciting programme of events, both sporting and social, details of which can be viewed on our website www.letterkennygolfclub.com .
